South Sudan Stops Guinea Worm Disease
In late March, South Sudan’s minister of health made a historic announcement at The Carter Center. Carter Center Hosts Human Rights Defenders Forum
The Carter Center hosts an annual Human Rights Defenders Forum. The next forum, "Restoring Faith in Freedom," will be held at the Center July 21-24, 2018, to discuss ways to end violence in all its forms. Watch an archive of last year’s forum, "Freedom from Fear: Securing Rights in Challenging Times," which highlights experiences of courageous women and men on the front lines of this fight.

Sudanese Surgeons Focused on Saving Sight
Dr. Saisabil Omer and Dr. Mayasa Mustafa spent two weeks traveling across Sudan to perform sight-saving surgeries on trachoma patients. Learn about their trip and how The Carter Center and partners are working to end blinding trachoma in Sudan.

Mental Health Graduates in Liberia
The Carter Center has helped train 249 mental health clinicians in Liberia, with 83 specializing in the needs of children and adolescents. These graduates will provide mental health and psychosocial care in schools, clinics, and other child and youth-centered settings.
