Our rapidly polarizing society is driving us to live among people who think, look, and pray as we do. Increasingly, we struggle to find common purpose and connection with fellow Americans. Anger and division is replacing love and unity. How can people of faith respond? Join us for a discussion with Gary Mason, a pastor and peacemaker who has spent his life working in divided societies, including in his native northern Ireland as well as in Israel and Palestine.

About Gary Mason: Mason is a Methodist minister and holds a Ph.D. from the School of Psychology at the University of Ulster. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate in divinity from Florida Southern College for his role in peacebuilding in Ireland. Mason is a senior research fellow at the Kennedy Institute for Conflict Intervention at Maynooth University in Ireland and an adjunct professor at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. He is the founder of Rethinking Conflict, an organization devoted to building peace and reconciliation at the more fractured edges of society. Prior to founding that organization, Mason spent 28 years as a clergy person in Belfast and was involved in the Northern Irish Peace Process.

TODAY IS MRS. CARTER'S 95TH BIRTHDAY.
HELP HER BUILD HOPE. MAKE A GIFT NOW »
Good, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has worked tirelessly for more than 50 years to bring hope into the lives of the most vulnerable among us.

Thanks to her unrelenting activism, innumerable people with mental illnesses have access to care and the freedom to live a life of dignity and self-worth.

Her activism began in 1970, when Jimmy Carter was a candidate for governor of Georgia. Her passion and commitment fueled a mental health movement that is only growing stronger. Please keep this momentum going by making a gift today!

Help Mrs. Carter celebrate her 95th birthday with a donation that affirms her vision for a more caring world and builds hope for even more people.

Mrs. Carter's work reaches beyond mental health. She has undertaken a multitude of development and relief efforts, especially ones that improve life for women and children. In the last 35 years, Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter have observed dozens of elections, helping to advance democracy worldwide.

Your generosity will support causes close to Mrs. Carter's heart and extend the impact of all Carter Center programs. Adults and children across the world can gain effective tools to overcome disease and build democracies that uphold human rights.

By making a gift to The Carter Center in honor of Mrs. Carter's birthday, you will help:

  • Destigmatize mental illnesses and improve care.
  • Eliminate diseases that threaten developing nations.
  • Strengthen democracy and end violent conflict.
  • Advance human rights and access to justice.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Mrs. Carter's milestone birthday. Your partnership is deeply meaningful to both her and the vulnerable people who rely on us for help.
