Simple Steps to Save Up
As summer approaches, you'll probably want to find a job so you will have money to do fun things. If you are heading off to college in the fall like me, it's important to save some of your earnings for college expenses. Aside from your tuition and room and board, you'll need to factor in personal incidentals such as shampoo, deodorant, cosmetics, eating out, laundry, and entertainment...read the full article

Sun Safety
As we pack away our winter coats and gloves and rollout the capris and dresses, we should be getting our sunscreen ready to protect our skin from the hot sun. The sun is an excellent source of vitamin D, which helps us absorb calcium and makes our bones become stronger...read the full article

Books are boring, right? Wrong. Reading is one of the best forms of entertainment, and you don't even have to leave your room. But what should you read?...read the full article

It's spring! A change in seasons means many things but one of the most important things is a shift in the "in-season" fruits and vegetables. One of the spring seasons' highlighted vegetables and one of my personal favorites is…asparagus!...read the full article

Good, Don't Forget to Honor Mom with the Gift of Hope

Mother's Day is May 8, and you can send a unique eCard and gift in honor of mom.
View in a web browser
This Mother's Day honor your mom with a special gift.
Dear Good,
It's not too late to honor your mom with the heart-warming gift of peace, health, and hope for the world's most impoverished and oppressed individuals. From now until Mother's Day (May 8), you can send a special eCard with a painting by Carter Center founder and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

Mother's Day eCard
Your gift in honor of your mother will help save the eyesight of people like Christine Akello, who suffer from river blindess and live in a region with no access to regular health care.

After years of suffering from painful river blindness symptoms while a civil war raged in her native Uganda, Christine Akello finally found relief through medicine distributed by The Carter Center and its partners. Now, her eyesight is almost back to normal and she can take care of her family once more. With continued drug treatment, she is hopeful for a full recovery.

When you make a gift today, you and your mother will be our partners in fighting five other devastating neglected diseases too — Guinea worm, trachoma, lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, and malaria. These diseases affect the poorest of the poor and, together, we can give them lasting solutions for treatment and prevention.

At the same time, you will help us safeguard some of the world's most vulnerable people against human rights abuses and violent conflict, giving them a chance at a peaceful existence.

Thank you for helping us alleviate suffering this Mother's Day. Thank you for choosing the gift of hope.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Carter

P.S. Don't forget there are 12 other eCard designs to choose from on our Tribute Gift donation form.
